Natural lash isolation is the first and most important step in providing a safe and comfortable lash set. As a beginner, you need to practice with your isolation tweezer on a mannequin head first before taking any clients. The isolation tweezer is very sharp and you want to avoid any chance of hurting or poking the client. You will eventually develop muscle memory from a great deal of practice using your isolation tweezer.
Natural lashes that are not properly isolated when extensions are applied often cause multiple natural lashes to be stuck together. These are called stickies. These lashes stick to each other and pull each other as they grow out, causing discomfort, pain, styes, and follicle damage.
